“ The pastor tacos with everything on them was really one one of the best i’ve had. The carne asada was just ok i’ve had better. The place is pretty hard to find so you gotta follow maps lmao. There is seating on a little counter area also seats but is kinda dirty since it’s so busy. Not sure if i would come back since there taco trucks serving the same if not better tacos especially the asada. The tacos are also $7!!! a taco. ”
“ The food is definitely a 5. The service would be 3, but because there was no soap nor paper towels in the restroom. However, they had hand sanitizer, though it’ isn’t my preference. Atmosphere is also a 3, quite hermetic. There is a bar outside, but it’s quite hidden. Now, the tacos are indeed delicious, there’s no question about it. They this out! ”
“ Really quite good. There's a line at night but it moves pretty quickly and is well organized. There aren't many different types of meat on offer but what there is, is done well. The chicken in my opinion is the best of the bunch. There is a choice between corn and flour tortillas, with corn being slightly more interesting I think. Overall quite solid, though a slight bit pricey, so it's more of a 4.5 star review, but rounded up. ”
“ Taqueria de Diaz = Straight Fire Okay so hear me out!!! I pulled up to Taqueria de Diaz not expecting my taste buds to be spiritually awakened, but omg… the tacos?? INSANE. The volcán carne asada(beef steak) was next leve tender and juicy. it had absolutely no business being that goof. The volcán pollo asado (grilled chicken) was great too, especially with the crispy shell giving it that perfect smokiness and crunch. We also got a quesadilla that was absolutely loaded soft tortilla, packed with juicy beef steak, creamy guacamole, and melty cheese. Honestly, it was a full meal in itself. The soft tortilla tacos were solid too, but personally, I’m a crispy shell fan all the way. Just hits different. Now for the wildcard: we tried the nopal taco (yes, cactus ). It was… interesting. Had a tangy, pickle like flavor. Definitely a texture you don’t expect in a taco, but not mad at it! ”
“ Not a local - but this was top taco recc from locals. Volcan - must try a few! This may have taken best 1st place over birria for me. The tacos were delicious too w/ all the toppings, but Volcan FTW! Try the Nopal ‘cactus’ bc why not? Authentic & delish! ”
“ I love this place. We came at 10pm and it was popping. The staff is great, English and Spanish speaking. The tacos are phenomenal and the vibe is top tier. It feels like you are in Mexico City! Gave me flashbacks. I will definitely be coming back here. The parking sucks though. ”
“ This is by far the coolest taco spot I've ever been to. There's security in the front letting people in just like a high end club. The music thats going on either up at the rooftop or inside is just as inviting and upbeat. Once inside the atmosphere reminded me of a busy street food place in Mexico but with a home grandma in the back restaurant feel at the same time. Once I bit into the first taco (pastor) I knew I had to plan my next visit to Austin. You will not regret eating here and your taste buds will have a new favorite taco spot. ”
“ WOW! Best tacos in Austin. The carne asada was super tender and the pork adobada was super flavorful with the pineapple topping. We came on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty packed in there. Luckily there was not much of a wait but prepared to stand as there is not a lot of seating. I recommend the quesadilla, so yummy. The chicken tacos were okay so I would say to do beef or pork instead. ”
